You deserve to wear the (completely unofficial!) “Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF” merit badge if you hauled that orange collection box around as a kid. Or if yours is the house that always has a bowl of change ready for the kids with the boxes. Or if you do what you can to support UNICEF now by making a donation and/or spreading the word.
As I may have mentioned once or twice this month, there’s a little thing called BookOrTreat going on through Halloween to support UNICEF. Okay, okay—I’ve mentioned the pants off of it.
BUT! I wanted to let you know about a few specific events coming up that are in addition to all the usual goings-on:
- This Saturday night, BookOrTreat and T.H. Mafi are co-hosting a Halloween movie party on Twitter! You don’t even need a Twitter account to come to the party. I’ll be there in a costume primarily made from tinfoil, and I hope you’ll be there too (foil costume optional).
- Mia is helping to get the word out about BookOrTreat by having a Halloweeny Blogfest on Tuesday, October 26th. Sign up—you might win a prize!
- The Rejectionist has pledged to reveal her Halloween costume if you make a donation to UNICEF through BookOrTreat and let me know about it!!! PEOPLE. This is a rare opportunity. WE NEED TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. I’ve even set up a special email address good through the end of the month so you can make your donation report: LeRcostume [at] bookortreat [dot] com
- Speaking of costumes… I’m planning on doing something special and more than a little weird for you next week. So stay tuned.
This Halloween-themed badge posted in support of BookOrTreat’s Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF fundraising. The badge may be posted on your site or blog. Tell us why you’ve earned it in the comments. Or if you haven’t earned this badge yet—get to it!

Dear Triceratophat,
I, under my actual name, have donated cash dollars because of Le R. and your UNICEF link. Book or Treat is fabulous and I’m happy you’ve made me aware.

P.S Please make with an accompanying custom to Le. R’s Edward Scissorhands posthaste—it’s all about giving. ^_^
