I provide merit badges for curiously specialized skills—right now I'm focusing on writers & readers. Who decides if you've earned a badge? You, and only you. If you want to show off what you've earned, you can post a badge on your website or blog. Updates every weekday.

Narrowly avoided being a prodigy.
That was a close one.
I’m not sure how you managed to sneak by without having your genius recognized at a young age, but thank goodness you did!
The tiniest slip and you could’ve easily ended up as the next hot young novelist everyone’s buzzing about. Nobody needs that kind of aggravation.
Besides—being a Wunderkind? Puh-lease. It’s been done to death.
All the cool
kidspeople are totally into being late bloomers now.And you’re cool, right? Cool enough to earn the “narrowly avoided being a prodigy” merit badge.
TIP: Bookmark this post & come back to it on your next birthday. (Sorry I couldn’t gift wrap it.)
Part of the merit badges for writers series. The badge may be posted on your site or blog. Tell us why you’ve earned (or will never earn) it in the comments.
