Rhyme.

Merit badge: lime mime

Here’s a badge that you may merit.
Pin it on and proudly wear it.
It’s only pixels, but you can mime—
You deserve it for your skills sublime!
Take inspiration from Dr. Seuss.
Something, something, something, moose.
See? It’s easy to make a rhyme.
In fact, I do it all the day.

The “rhyme” merit badge is part of the writers series, and may be posted on your site or blog. Have you earned this badge? Will you never earn it? Tell us why in the comments.

Thanks go out to someone swell for composition help: dear sister Elle. (Ha ha, see what we did there? We are dangerous in combination.)

    Diction and form
    intertwine, bind, array.
    Rhythm may flow;
    Meter marches, arranged.

    But as for rhyme…
    rhyme always eludes me.

    @Casey: Maybe there should be a non-rhyming badge. It could have an orange and an anything else.

    Yeah, I’d dig that. Love the lime-mime-lime-rhyme badge, btw. And “Something, something, something, moose” is rivaled only by “all the day” in its poetic brilliance. Or its comedic brilliance. Whichever. ;)
