Typing.

Merit badge: typewriter

As long as your B is I the C and your H are O the K, why not go for the “typing” merit badge? It couldn’t hurt to pump up your WPM so you’ll be ready for the day you upgrade to a typewriter.

Today’s Request Week badge was suggested by Mari on Twitter when she thought I wasn’t looking.

And speaking of not looking at Twitter, make sure you don’t not look at the @meritblog feed! You wouldn’t not not want… Okay, I lost track of the double negatives there. The point is, keep watching for the #badgeimprov prompts on Twitter this week and reply with your suggestions. Together we can make a truly strange Frankenbadge.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to change the ribbon before tomorrow’s blog post.

This is part of the merit badges for writers series, and may be posted on your site or blog. Have you earned this badge? Will you never earn it? Tell us why in the comments.

Congrats, Mari! It’s a great badge.

Em, love the tiny tiny typewriter and the tiny paper! And is that a carriage return lever? Seriously old school. (True fax: Way back when, my computer programmer mom taught me the difference between “carriage return” and “enter” — because it can be important! Okay, so that’s a little old school, too.)

Also USB typewriter!! I… I– I got nothin’.
