What gives? We just had badges for optimism and realism—shouldn’t there be a badge for pessimism today?

Aw, sweetie. If you really deserved a pessimism merit badge, you wouldn’t have expected there to be one.

    I’m pretty sure that I deserve this one. I send in every query letter hoping to be rejected, because in the end it feels better that expecting to be accepted :)

    @anwa: There is something compelling about the certainty of knowing nothing will ever work out… And then being wrong only means things are better than you hoped.
