I provide merit badges for curiously specialized skills—right now I'm focusing on writers & readers. Who decides if you've earned a badge? You, and only you. If you want to show off what you've earned, you can post a badge on your website or blog. Updates every weekday.

Mature writer.
Okay, enough happy fluffy love for young writers. All hail Thoth.
The “ancient old mature writer” merit badge is for those of you who have been doing this a long time. Or maybe you haven’t been doing this a long time, you just didn’t get to start as early as you would’ve liked. That’s okay, life happens—and very often happens in a way that makes for more interesting stories. You’re amazing either way.
Doubly amazing if you manage to write even with a myriad of boring grown-up responsibilities on your shoulders.
Triply amazing if you find time to help and guide younger writers on top of that.
Honestly, you’re so cool I can hardly stand it. And you keep getting better! I’ve never been a swooner, but you’re testing my limits.
This is part of the merit badges for writers series, and may be posted on your site or blog. Have you earned this badge? Will you never earn it? Tell us why in the comments.
