I provide merit badges for curiously specialized skills—right now I'm focusing on writers & readers. Who decides if you've earned a badge? You, and only you. If you want to show off what you've earned, you can post a badge on your website or blog. Updates every weekday.

Dialogue.
Me: I need to hurry up and write a blog post so I can go see you.
Dear Sister: Hmm.
Me: Hey, let’s have a really contrived conversation.
DS: Like what?
Me: I dunno. Just whatever. Then we casually bring up the “dialogue” merit badge.
DS: You start.
Me: Hey, let’s have a really contrived conversation!
DS: Okay! Sounds like fun.
[Awkward pause.]
Me: …yeah, I got nothing.
DS: You have something. You just said, “…yeah, I got nothing.”
Me: This isn’t working out.
DS: Then I guess we can’t earn the merit badge.
Me: No. No we cannot.
Are the conversations you write more realistic than the ones I have in real life? Claim your badge, baby!
This is part of the merit badges for writers series, and may be posted on your site or blog. Have you earned this badge? Will you never earn it? Tell us why in the comments.
