Coffee shop novelist.

Merit badge: cup of coffee and laptop computer

Do you earn the “coffee shop novelist” merit badge by working on your novel in a coffee shop? Do you earn it by pretending to work on your novel in a coffee shop? Or do you just skip the middleman altogether and take the badge for pretending to pretend to work on your novel in a coffee shop?

I don’t know. I drink tea.

This is part of the merit badges for writers series. Have you earned this badge? Tell us why in the comments and post the badge on your website or blog.

Okay I admit it. Lately I have been going to the coffee shop/bookstore in my town to try to work on it. I know it is said that do whatever you must. I just feel like there is so much more professionalism there than at home. But I am going to perhaps try to change that a bit.

But the coffee shop does have Jones Soda, yummy!

I’ve thought about going to my new favorite hangout, CoffeeTimes. Once my son gets transportation to his day program, I might do that! Just for, as my grandmother used to say, a change of f0ur walls.

@Hillary: I am making tea right now.

@DQuartermane: Hey, no judgments as long as it works for you! And like Mari said, it can be good just to have a change in your surroundings sometimes.
